Ancelotti approves sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal to fund Bale transfer

Newly appointed Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly approved the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to English Premier League giants, Arsenal in order to fund the transfer of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Gareth Bale.

According to Spanish newspaper, El Confidencial, Ancelotti, who is not one to make massive overhauls despite the influx of talent at his former club, Paris Saint Germain, is hoping to make just two, or at most three signings this summer.

One of which has already been added in Malaga midfielder, Isco but Ancelotti knows that there must be some major player sales if they have any chance of signing Bale from a reluctant Tottenham.

Therefore, Ancelotti has approved the €30 million sale of Argentine International, Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal, which only needs the approval by club president, Florentino Perez while they also plan to sell Higuain’s compatriot, winger Angel di Maria in order to earn at least €50 million toward what appears to be the €90 million purchase of Bale.

The benefit of such sales is that there is no immediate need to replace Higuain or di Maria as Ancelotti and assistant coach, Zinedine Zidane plan to permenantly promote Alvaro Morata and Jese from Real Madrid Castilla as replacements.

Finally, the likely sale of Fabio Coentrao will only add funds to possible sign Sevilla midfielder, Geoffrey Kondogbia to replace an aging Xabi Alonso.
